Ciao miei amici,
We have arrived in Trastevere, Rome – well actually yesterday, but after a 24 hour trip, I was a bit too tired to think about emailing. The apartment is great and right in the middle of Trastevere. The pic below is our street.
Today we visited Galleria Borghese and the walked down via del Corso and spent an hour in the palazzo Doria Pamphilj – both are magnificent buildings and both had a huge selection of 16th and 17th century artworks. The Doria Pamphilj gallery is a private collection with works by Caravaggio, Rafaelo, Brueghel and many others.
Tonight we go to the opera at Teatro Salone Margherita to hear a selection of opera arias.
Eating in tonight with antipasti and a very pleasant Montepulciano d’Abruzzo.
