“Just sit right back and you’ll hear a tale
A tale of a fateful trip
That started from this tropic port
Aboard this tiny ship……”
Caro famigli e amici,
Today we had some fun! We rented a 5m motorboat (self-skippered), and luckily had no Gilligan-like adventures. We set off at 9 as the heat was building, but it was amazing how quickly it cooled down as we got out on the water and into the breeze. Also, fortunately, the boat had a roll-out canopy that helped protect two of the handful of fair-skinned people in the whole of Positano.

The first pic shows Positano from the water. Just another of the postcard views of Positano that we are collecting.
We motored almost to Amalfi, then found a pretty little rocky cove for a swim in this beautiful blue crystal clear water.
Sally took the helm as we headed back towards Praiano. Then we cruised right past Positano, avoiding several 100m+ yachts and ferries and followed the coast to the west. Found a little beach in a rocky cove (see last pic) and decided it was good spot for another swim and a little picnic. It seemed that three hours had simply disappeared and it was time to head for port.

A fantastic outing and highly recommended.
Last night in Positano tonight, maybe some more seafood. Then the E Class taxi to Naples tomorrow and the ferry to Palermo….Sicily awaits.
A presto, Colin and Sally
